The Accident
That day the weather was awful and the weather forecast warned about temperatures dropping below 0ºC and ice covering many roads. So the drivers were being cautious. I was going to work by bus and I was sitting on a front seat. All of a sudden, I could see a tunker truck skidding and turning over. The truck landed across the road. Many cars tried to avoid it but it was imposible and they crashed into one another. The bus driver could stop and activate the hazard lights to alert the other drivers.
Consequences
The driver of the truck was trapped and he was unconscious. The firefighters managed to take him out. The other drivers involved in the crash had minor injuries but many of them had a nervous breakdown.
While the victims were assisted, the police and firefighters removed the truck and the cars for two hours. The traffic was restored as soon as the road was cleared.
