Dear Mary and John,
I'm writing to thank you for having me stay with you for a week last month.
Sorry for not writing earlier but I've been very busy at work. My colleague has had two weeks off, and as she did when I stayed with you in Bristol, I've had to do all her work these days.
Although the weather was awful – it was raining the whole week – I had a great time. I won't forget our trip to Wells. It's a beautiful place. Its Cathedral is amazing, its narrow streets, its squares… are wonderful. I won't forget when we went to Bath – it's the most beautiful city I've ever been to!
I would have loved to spend a few more days with you there, but as I told you when I was there it wasn't possible because my family was waiting for me, and I had to go back to work.
Anyway that's all for now. Thanks again for everything.
Remember my invitation to come here to spend one or two weeks with us next spring. I think May and June are the best months here, the weather is perfect and I can take a week off to spend some time with you.
We can visit a few cities like Toledo and Salamanca, that are near Madrid, so it won't take us long to get there.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Write to me soon!
Best wishes,
Clara
