Changing Roles

Gender roles have changed far and away over the last 50 years but the question is, is it enough?

In the past women were "mothers & wives." Their aim was to take care of their family, women did not have a ghost of a chance to study and develop their business skills. On the other hand, men only worked and earned money outside their homes.

Over 30 years ago women started asking for their rights. They decided to take control of their lives and move away from slavery. Since then, women became interested in the business world.

Currently, women can study and get a job, despite the fact that they must work harder and better than men to get promoted. Besides, men do not usually want to hire women because they might get pregnant in a brief period of time.

From my point of view, women are heroes -- they are employees and when they arrive home they usually have housework to do. Fortunately, some men are starting to change their role too, sharing the housework and the childcare. Numerous young men in their thirties are willing to cook, clean or pick up their children from school. Women, of course, put pressure in this need for them to share all the tasks.

Undoubtedly, this issue is improving. However, men should think that cleaning is a duty of any civilized person, not the help they are giving women. Parents should teach their children to behave that way, too.

I agree with the beginning of the change. Furthermore, we women do not need to be considered neither male nor female, because we are PEOPLE. What you think about that?
