2.2 Editing your Profile and picking an avatar (10')

2.2.1. Editing your Profile (To edit is to modify)

Step 1. Look at the top right corner now that you are signed in (if you signed out, login again!) and click on Control Panel / Options. Now you are in "My Home", look a bit further down, on your left. Do you see these words?
Step 2. In the "My Home" frindge, the next concept is Edit Profile. Click on that. Just look. You don't need to change anything. This is the form that you filled in when you registered. When you did, you just filled in the Required area, and now you can add whatever you wish to add. If you add or change anything, remember to save those changes by scrolling down and clicking "Edit Profile".

You are free to investigate the other tools and options. They're not necessary for this beginners course.

2.2.2. Picking an avatar
An avatar is a graphic image of our forum identity.

Step 1. Look at the navigation bar which has a little house on the right. A bit further left you will find the section called Avatars. Click on that.
Step 2 . There are some yellow folders on your left. The first one, CVS, has nothing. The others are full of avatars. Have a look and when you find an avatar you like, select it by clicking on the little circle beneath it, and remember to save the selection by clicking on the button at the bottom "Update avatar".

Other Options for Avatars

If you don't like any, or you have your own, this is the way you can use it here:

Step 1. Go to your Control Panel
Step 2 . Go to Edit Profile
Step 3 . Scroll down till you see the slot called Avatar URL
Step 4 . Paste there the web address of your avatar

A third option is that you send the TP webmistress your avatar, so that she can uploaded in the yellow folders and you can select it after she has. Your avatar cannot be bigger than 150 x 150 pix.
